Tips for Soft, Easy to Chew and Nutritious Food
If you find it difficult to eat, chew and swallow, it is recommended that you choose foods that are easy to chew and swallow.
Recommended foods
Dishes for breakfast or dinner
- Rice, semolina, or oatmeal porridge, with the addition of sugar or honey, double or sour cream, jam, or chocolate spread.
- Yogurt or sour cream with natural fruit (the fruit should be blended).
- Different flavored dairy puddings.
- Cooked pudding.
- Sandwiches with spreads: avocado, tahini, hummus, smooth peanut butter (with no crushed peanuts), egg mayonnaise salad, fat white cheese, blended tuna salad in oil.
Lunch
- Potato or sweet potato puree in gravy.
- Pureed, thick and smooth vegetable soups (with no lumps), with the addition of legumes (such as lentils or chickpeas), rice, groats, pasta. You can add egg drops to the soup.
- Fish, diced chicken or turkey with gravy.
In between meals (ten o'clock snack. four o'clock snack)
- Apple puree with the above-mentioned additions to a porridge, smooth peanut butter, raw tahini.
- Fruits or ice-cream, blended with juice, milk, or double cream.
- Milkshake blended to a smooth and even texture.
- Home-made halva spread (you can mix dates honey or honey with raw tahini).
- Ice-creams and popsicles.
To enrich your diet, it is recommended to prefer nutrients from foods rather than from food additives.
If there are nutritional deficiencies, it is recommended to consult a dietician about incorporating appropriate food additives.
