Nutrition
The recommended, healthiest nutrition for 3-6 month-old infants is breastfeeding. At this stage, breastmilk should be comfortable and natural to you and your infant, and even if it is not, its not too late to consult a lactation consultant. If you plan to go back to work in the near future, it is a good idea to prepare for this by pumping milk and making preparations to continue to pump milk at your workplace. If necessary, or in the absence of pumped breastmilk, be ready to provide infant formula and to expose your infant to bottle feeding.
Infants up to the age of six months do not need water. They get all the fluids they need from breastmilk or infant formula. From the age of six months, you can offer your infant diversified supplementary food, and as meals establish you can offer water too. Do not offer honey and cow milk until the age of one year.
