How to Dress Newborns
What do parents want for their babies? To be happy and active, eat and sleep properly, and be healthy and relaxed. One of a parent’s first questions, especially at the start of parenthood, is how to determine whether the baby is hot or cold and, accordingly, how to dress them.
With time, you will learn to recognize your baby's unique signs. Until then, you can use this simple method to check if the baby is too hot or too cold: touch the back or abdomen (not the baby's hands or feet) and make sure it feels warm and comfortable.

Not sure how to dress your baby?
In choosing clothes, you should follow a fairly simple principle: until the age of two months, dress the baby in one more layer than adults.
Dress your baby in weather-appropriate clothing
-
Winter clothing
In the winter, dress your baby in at least two layers. For instance, a first layer of long tank tops and footed leggings, and above a second layer, for example, overalls that wrap the whole body and keep the baby warm. This creates an air layer between the layers, which helps to insulate the baby from the cold.
At least the first layer that touches your baby's skin should be 100% cotton. Cotton helps prevent the irritation that may happen due to contact with other fabrics, and it absorbs sweat better.
Add socks above the footed leggings. Furthermore, when the baby is in bed or in the stroller, cover the baby with a thin or fleece blanket. That way, the baby will be warm and cozy but not too hot. -
Summer clothing
In the summer, dress your baby in light and airy and layers. For example, consider two tank tops and footed leggings until the age of two months. Even in the summer, at least for the layer that touches the baby's skin should be 100% cotton.
