Pregnancy Nursing Support
Accompaniment by a nurse, through all stages of pregnancy, should ensure both your and your baby's well-being. The aim of the accompaniment and follow-up is to track your medical state, mostly using the tests done during pregnancy, and perform routine tests such as measurement of weight, blood pressure, pulse, urine tests. In addition, the nurse will provide guidance on many issues and support you throughout your pregnancy.
You can be accompanied by a nurse at a Family Health Center (Tipat Halav) or your HMO. We recommend that you contact your HMO to find out more about the service. You can also call the Family Health Center hotline *5400 to get information about pregnancy follow-up tests. After discovering you are pregnant (congratulations!), it is recommended to make your first appointment with a pregnancy nurse. The nurse will consult you regarding the frequency of appointments that suits you.

Pregnancy can be a complex and demanding period, even confusing sometimes. There are various tests to be done on specific dates, many appointments to schedule, and so on. It is natural to forget or miss things during pregnancy. The nurse accompaniment can help you through this period.
In each meeting with the accompanying nurse, you will undergo regular tests: a urine test (protein), blood pressure, pulse, and weight.
Additionally, the nurse will guide you on the following issues:
- Healthy behavior during pregnancy: taking recommended vitamins or food additives, engaging in pregnancy-appropriate physical activity, and practicing attentive food preparation and consumption.
- Urgent medical conditions that may occur during pregnancy.
- Anticipated and current physical changes and how to deal with them.
- Guidance about routine pregnancy tests that are conducted by the nurse, such as the oral glucose tolerance test.
- Guidance about fetal movement monitoring at the appropriate pregnancy stage.
