Safety
At this stage, babies are already able to lift their head and chest while lying on their stomach. They can reach out, grasp objects, and bring their hands toward their body. This is a time to be especially careful when caring for them and to remove any objects they might try to put in their mouth, due to the risk of choking or swallowing. In addition, it is important to keep away any cords, fabrics, or curtains that could wrap around their neck and cause strangulation. It is also advisable to tie back long hair while playing with or caring for your baby.
At this age, babies learn mainly through connection, touch, sound, and movement. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid screens whenever possible, including background screens, and instead focus on talking, singing, eye contact, and simple age-appropriate play.
In addition, this is a good time to encourage rolling from back to tummy after each diaper change. However, it is important to remember: never leave a baby unattended on a changing table or any elevated surface, even for a moment. Development at this stage may also require age-appropriate equipment such as baby carriers, strollers, or car seats. Choose products that meet safety standards and always use them according to the manufacturer's instructions.
