If you decide to fast while breastfeeding, start preparing several days in advance

    The days before fasting

    In the days leading up to a one-day fast, drink plenty of water, aiming for 3–4 liters per day.

    In a prolonged fast

    Drink 2-3 liters in the hours between fasting.

    As you approach the fast or in the evening when you can eat

    It is recommended to consume foods that will help you fast, such as complex carbohydrates like whole wheat bread, whole rice, legumes, and whole grains.

    Pumping

    It is advised to pump a portion of breast milk before starting to fast, so you can feed your baby towards the end of fasting if needed.
